As you may have heard, Storj Labs recently began allowing Storage Node Operators to run multiple Storage Nodes using the same email address. Prior to this, a Storage Node Operator could only technically operate one Storage Node to ensure the utmost decentralization of Nodes on the network. Even if you’re running all your Nodes from the same physical location and IP address, you can now easily operate as many Nodes as you’d like (although there are a few caveats to keep in mind).

Great news! If you’re using Windows Home, you can now run a Storage Node using our native Windows installer. The new installer includes an auto-updater so you never have to worry about whether or not your Node is up to date and it also includes our brand new Node Dashboard. The Node Dashboard can be viewed in your web browser, and it provides a ton of useful information about your Node’s performance (including your reputation).

To improve the payout process for Storj farmers, we have launched a new service to track payments each month. Instead of searching in the monthly Google sheet, you can visit https://payout.storj.io/ and enter your payment destination address. The app will display gigabyte hours, bytes downloaded, terabytes stored, terabytes downloaded, and the payout amount in dollars.

We committed to distributing payouts by April 30 and we are pleased to share we have met that goal and payments are currently underway. In the two weeks since we announced we would make changes to our farmer payout criteria, we have made progress! We are close to finishing SIP9, and in our final testing phase. SIP9 will change the way we identify and rank farmer node reputation and store data across the Storj network. SIP9 includes many changes, but in general, farmers operating nominally with higher availability will receive more contracts than farmers who have lower availability.
